August Book Drive

As school is right around the corner, help us collect some books for Book Harvest! Bring your new or gently used books to drop off at Durham Food Hall during the month of August.

Book Harvest will be at the Hall on Saturday, August 3rd to kick off this month-wide event, where you can enter to win a $50 gift card to DFH by bringing a book donation. (gift card raffle on Aug 3rd only)

We will also be donating 10% of all sales of the August Give Back Cocktail to Book Harvest. Drink for a good cause!

Book Donation Guidelines:
Book Harvest gladly accepts new and gently used children’s books for young readers ages 0-18. We especially love donations of board books, picture books, Spanish and bilingual books, and books that portray ALL children, honoring diverse backgrounds, languages, abilities, and perspectives, and including stories by and about people of color.

Please note that we cannot accept:

  • Books for adults (cookbooks, gardening books, self-help books, novels, etc.)
  • Religious books for any age
  • Textbooks/atlas books/encyclopedias/dictionaries
  • Activity books/workbooks/coloring books
  • Library discards
  • Books used in classroom settings/teaching materials
  • Books that are outdated, yellowed, torn, molded, damaged, etc.
