Born from the desire of three long time fine dining co-workers and friends to create great, honest food without all the pomp and circumstance, Old North Meats and Provisions is at its essence a sandwich counter with so much more to offer.
After years of extolling the virtues of delicious but simple food, and, after many late conversations… (and beers) between friends, chefs, co-workers and family about the food that shaped our identity as chefs and artisans. We decided then that we would take all of our passion and knowledge and create fine dining caliber food and shorten the distance between us and our guests, friends and community.
Founders Joel Schroetter-Chef Owner, Kevin Donnelly- Chef Owner & John Anton – Chef Operator not only call upon their vast experience in the business but also celebrate the rustic food their childhood’s in the Midwest, the North East and right her in NC’s triangle. Old North is intended to be a celebration of place and heritage.
At Old North our mission is to create honest food by procuring the finest local ingredients with the freshest provenance. Old North looks to fill a void in the already robust local food community by bringing to market smoked, cured, pickled and fermented goodness in not only the form of the sandwich, but also, by filling our deli case with all the bounty that NC has to offer.
Whether our neighboring farmers, fishermen, urban gardeners, artisan cheese makers or local bakeries, years in the local restaurant scene have not only honed The Old North teams cooking skills, but also forged deep meaningful relationships with vendors we are proud to call business partners.
