In the wake of Covid-19, we at Durham Food Hall are doing everything we can to serve our community safely and bring a taste of what’s to come when we can operate at full capacity. Are you open?
Yes! We are open for contactless curbside pickup! While this is not the grand opening we’d hoped for, we’re working hard to evolve and show up in a meaningful way for you. We are excited to share an introduction to our fantastic vendors, bar, and retail offerings through our current DFH Preview! Durham Food Hall is offering full cocktail kits, delicious homemade mixers, and curated beer and wine selections as a preview to our Auctioneer Bar. We also have thoughtful small maker goods like cards, candles, home goods, and pet items for you to enjoy at home or include in a gift or care package. You can find these items and all of our vendor offerings through our online ordering page. We look forward to seeing you!
Are all DFH vendors open?
Not yet. In order to safely operate and navigate this new normal, we are opening just a few Vendors at a time, working up to full operation. We hope this provides you an opportunity to try each Vendor’s offerings as they open, and exciting new items to look forward to!
How do I Order?
All orders must be placed online ahead of time. All offerings, menus, hours, and pickup information are available through our online ordering page. Orders must be placed separately for each vendor. If you’d like to receive orders from multiple vendors at the same time, schedule each order for that one pickup time and leave a note in the special instructions letting us know you are picking up multiple orders. We can then conveniently consolidate everything for one pickup!
Can I pick-up? How?
Orders may be picked up just inside the open doors of DFH. Customers are asked to adhere to social distancing guidelines at pickup, including arriving at your scheduled pickup time, staying 6 feet away from other customers, and waiting to approach the pickup table until your order has been placed there for you.
What are your hours?
We are currently open for pick-up 12pm – 7pm Wednesday-Friday and Sunday, and 9am -7pm on Saturday.
How can I stay updated on your vendor openings and specials?
Do you deliver?
Not yet. Right now we are offering contactless curbside pickup, and hope to add delivery in the near future.
Can I go inside DFH?
For now, you may step inside the open doors to pick up your order and look around the space. We have clearly marked the space where you’re welcome to stand using tape on the floor. We are following national, state, and local guidelines and regulations to ensure proper social distancing and safe sanitation is met. We are working hard to maintain a safe working environment for customers and our staff.
Are the Vendors offering their full menus?
Our Vendors are adapting and evolving their menus to serve your take out taste buds best. This may mean edited menus and different items which fare better for take-out. Or larger, family size quantities for less frequent outings. They will continue offering seasonal items to compliment what’s available from our local farmers. Once we are able to open at full capacity, and invite you to dine inside Durham Food Hall, the Vendor offerings will return to planned menus for seasonal table side enjoyment.
Do you plan on having a grand opening at a later date?
Absolutely! We’ve spent lots of time planning some very fun Opening Events, and we will ensure they come to life! We’d never miss a good party. Durham Food Hall is meant to be a vibrant communal gathering space for Durham, and we can’t wait to welcome you into the space and show you everything we’ve been working on.
What are you doing internally to help prevent the spread of COVID-19?
We’re fully committed to the health and safety of our staff, colleagues, suppliers, and to you – our valued customers. Restaurants adhere to a high standard of cleaning and care, and we are serious about going above and beyond those standards during this time.
Following the sanitation guidelines for essential businesses as laid out by local, state, and national governments, we have created strict protocols requiring masks, gloves, and temperature checks for all employees. We will perform frequent and routine environmental cleanings and sanitize high touch areas more often than we typically would in a restaurant setting (which is already quite a lot) with EPA-approved disinfectant for COVID-19. We’re packaging orders securely to protect them, and we’re limiting the number of people who can work in the Hall. We also have clear guidelines posted outside, along with social distancing marks on the ground, to help ensure customers remain safe.

What does this mean for the future of DFH? Will I ever be able to dine-in with a group?
We’re approaching this situation with the understanding that things may not go back to ‘normal’ anytime soon. But we do plan to be flexible and think creatively about ways to serve you safely. While it may be many months before the Hall is the fun and lively space we dreamed of, we’ll be doing everything we can to create opportunities for unique experiences as the situation evolves. We will err on the side of caution in order to keep everyone safe, but we look forward to the day when we can welcome you and your friends to hang out, dine-in, meet together, and enjoy celebrating in our beautiful space with us!
Can I book a private event at DFH?
Durham Food Hall is designed not only as a public space for gathering, but also as a venue for private events. We have three unique private spaces which can accommodate a variety of size and style of events. At this time we are not booking our private spaces, but we will start looking at future dates once we have an idea of when we can welcome guests and move toward operating at full capacity.
